Jack White Joins the ‘SNL’ Five-Timers Club with Stunning Performances

As a musical guest on the Woody Harrelson-hosted episode of SNL (Saturday Night Live), Jack White gave an electrifying performance. With this appearance, the rocker was able to enter the series’ prestigious Five-Timers Club.

Jack White With a Great SNL Appearance

The former White Stripes frontman kicked things off with a ferocious medley of “Taking Me Back” and “Fear of the Dawn”, the first two songs from his 2022 album Fear of the Dawn. White and his ensemble followed that with a rollicking rendition of “A Tip From You to Me”, a song from his other 2022 album Entering Heaven Alive.

Before “Taking Me Back”/”Fear of the Dawn”, Harrelson — who also became a Five-Timer on Saturday — paused in the middle of his welcome to ask Jack White if he would also like to receive one of those jackets that SNL gives to its five-time guests, and he would, it turns out. The five-time jackets were presented to White and Harrelson, who got them from surprise guest and five-timer Scarlett Johansson, as the cast and guests gathered for the end credits wave-off.

Not His First SNL Appearance

Jack White made his first SNL appearance in 2002 while he was part of the White Stripes duo; that show was hosted by the late John McCain. The SNL solo appearances followed in 2012, 2018, and 2020. Respectively, Lindsey Lohan, John Mulaney, and Bill Burr hosted those shows.

Jack White’s Fear of the Dawn

Fear of the Dawn is Jack White’s fourth studio album, which was published on April 8th, 2022, by Third Man Records. The album was composed in Nashville and recorded at Third Man Studio in 2021. White released “Taking Me Back” in October 2021, his first solo song since 2018. White announced in November that he would release two solo albums in 2022: Fear of the Dawn, which will showcase White’s traditional rock sound, and Entering Heaven Alive, a folk album, which will be released on July 22nd. On November 11th, White unveiled the “Taking Me Back” video.

Halsey Finally Releases a Solo Version of Her Post Malone Collab

In 2019, Post Malone released his studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding. One of the more memorable songs in it was “Die 4 Me”, which featured Halsey and Atlanta rapper Future. The best part of the song, fans said, was Halsey’s part. Ever since then, fans have been begging the singer to release a solo version of the track. And she did. Finally.

Halsey’s Single Version

Halsey Finally Releases a Solo Version of Her Post Malone Collab

Ever since the release of Post Malone’s album, many of Halsey’s fans speculated that there must have been a solo version featuring just the singer’s vocals. She confirmed the rumors just recently with a teaser of the video. That’s more than four years after the album was released. In 2022, Halsey performed the song while on tour.

The new solo version is even spicier than the Post Malone collab, as it has a new verse. It’s the first new song from Halsey for 2023. Last year, the singer released a single called “So Good”. In addition, rumor has it that fans can also expect a new radio show on Amp featuring the singer.

The last album of Halsey was released two years ago and is called If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, which reached number two in the US top charts. Coming up, the singer will go on tour in Europe, performing in Spain and Portugal.

Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding

American rapper and singer Post Malone released his third studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, four years ago. It features guest appearances from many singers, including Halsey. Some of the performers are Ozzy Osbourne, Brian Lee, Frank Dukes, Future, and SZA.

The album also features a collab with American rapper Swae Lee that later became the new Spider-Man movie soundtrack. Hollywood’s Bleeding received many positive reviews and was even featured on the US Billboard 200 as number one.
