Sadly, when the big war reached its conclusion in 1945, Poland, now struggling and weakened, found itself situated behind what is described as Russia’s “Iron Curtain”. This symbolized the country’s influence and power over Poland despite the end of the war.

Even with the challenges put forward by Communism, Jan found a way to succeed in life. With time, he found a good job for himself, working on the railway as a person who fixes tracks and trains. This job even got him to be on the radar of a young lady from his neighborhood, who probably wouldn’t have paid attention to the once impoverished boy…
