When Maggie and Bill Walters decided to retire, they were looking forward to a peaceful and low-key lifestyle in their tranquil town. However, when they arrived home prematurely from their dream holiday, they were shocked to see their cherished garden in ruins. This unexpected situation sparked a quest for justice throughout the whole neighborhood. Little did they know, the cause of their troubles was lurking much closer to their homestead than they could have ever expected.

Meet Bill Walters

Throughout his life, Bill Walters was always committed to three main things: his loved ones, his career, and his gardening hobby. Hence, when the time came for him to say goodbye to his professional life as a police officer, he found joy in the additional time he had to concentrate more on his favorite pursuits.

Bill, a loving father of two and a dedicated husband, was enjoying his peaceful retirement in the calm town of Idaho Falls. But his life in this seemingly tranquil place was on the verge of becoming a horrifying nightmare.

Happy Family

The Walters family was filled with love and tranquility. Bill along with his beloved wife Maggie were sweethearts since their high school days and their love for each other was still as intense in their seventies. They had just joyfully marked their 48nd wedding anniversary, a testament to their enduring affection and happiness.

Bill’s two daughters, Lisa and Suzanna, were spread across different states, caught up in their own whirlwinds of career and kids. Despite the distance and their own responsibilities, they always found moments to come together. Once a cop always on his toes, Bill now indulged his time in golf, culinary experiments for his wife, and gardening. His life had taken a slower, tranquil pace, but little did he know, he was at the cusp of a major change, a storm brewing in his otherwise placid existence.

Famous in the Neighborhood

For forty long years, Bill dedicated his life to serving with the Idaho State Police Force. During this time, his hard work and determination saw him steadily climb up the ranks of the force. When his years of service came to an end, the citizens of Idaho Falls held Bill with high respect and admiration, lovingly viewing him as a local hero. Always humble, Bill didn’t really agree with this label, but it gave the folks in his town great comfort and pride to think of him this way.

Everyone knew that for Bill, his stunning garden was a treasure. Apart from his loved ones and work, his garden was the thing he held dearest. He drew immense satisfaction from his neatly-maintained lawn and fruit-bearing trees. These fruits – the fruits of his labor, were generously distributed to his fellow neighbors residing on the quaint Arrow Point Lane.

Empty Nest

Now that their kids were all grown up and had moved out long ago, Bill and Maggie started to feel their home was a bit too quiet and lacked the energy they desired. Bill had always carried a dream of having a couple of dogs that could play around his cherished garden and offer friendly company through their comfortable retirement years.

Bill and his wife, Maggie, were always kind-hearted folks with a great love for animals. Dogs had been a big part of Bill’s life growing up, being treated as members of the family. In his job, he helped out with several cases where he looked for lost dogs and saved cats stuck in trees. However, poor Maggie had severe allergy reactions to dogs, so though they would have loved to, they never had a canine companion in the Walters household.
