16+ People Share Their School’s Most Shocking Scandals
Remember how it felt during our time in school? It’s certain that most of us might willingly choose to revisit our youth, but one aspect we don’t really long for is the schooling days. Our time in school was hugely memorable, filled with many notable moments and experiences.
From teachers behaving in shocking ways to threats of bombs, these folks stepped onto Reddit to spill the most unbelievable scandals from their schools. You’ll find it hard to grasp these mind-blowing tales.
Unfree to Pee
A big news story made the rounds, alleging that an art teacher made a girl go pee in a bucket located in the classroom’s storage room. However, what the report conveniently left out was the recent change in school regulations. According to the new rules, there was a period during the day when students in certain classes were not allowed to take breaks for the bathroom.
This was one of those instances, and I genuinely sympathized with the teacher. She didn’t wish for the young girl to have an accident in her pants, particularly not in the presence of her peers.”
Teacher’s Theft
Our elementary school computer lab instructor was caught red-handed stealing money from the fundraisers that our students were enthusiastically partaking in. One of these fundraisers was merely an ordinary “Hey we’re raising money for your school, sell enough s— and you get a party bus and pizza”. If the story ended at this point, it would be less outrageous.
A young girl in my class had been fighting a tough battle against brain cancer and leukemia since her early years. Throughout her primary school years, we organized fundraisers to aid in her expensive treatments. She shared a special bond with our computer teacher, in fact, she was the only student who held a spot in the computer teacher’s heart. However, it was shocking when we discovered that even the computer teacher, who was closest to her, had cheated her. Can you believe it? She took money from her own friend’s fundraising campaign.
The Prank Call
User CrackheadRecords shared, “It wasn’t exactly a scandal, but it sure is unforgettable to me. Back when I was just a freshman in high school during the late 80s, a pay phone in the cafeteria was one of our primary communication tools. We didn’t have the luxury of caller ID or any modern identifying feature then. One day, a sophomore in my school decided it would be amusing to use the pay phone to make a prank call. The sort of prank that involved calling the White House and threatening the life of President Reagan.
Approximately 90 minutes later, or two class periods, the FBI, or it might have been the Secret Service, arrived at our school. They were there to arrest him. I’m not entirely sure how they managed to trace the call or understand where it came from, but it was clear they did not appreciate the ‘joke’ he had made. They didn’t see the humor in it at all.
School Disparity
In high school, there was this guy who seriously messed himself up by taking a mix of drugs while on campus. He ended up throwing up on a few of his classmates during a lesson, before he eventually blacked out. They had to call in the emergency medical services. After being absent for a few days, he returned to school.
The messed up part about this situation is that his only discipline was a short 3-day suspension, and he even served it while he was still on the mend. His wealthy parents, with his mother holding a high position on the school board, obviously had some sway in the matter. That same year, one of the seniors was given the boot for coming to school under the influence. The fellow was only discovered because he reeked of liquor. Remember, this kid hadn’t been a problem before. The glaring inconsistency in the application of punishment didn’t sit well with both the students and their parents, but the school board didn’t do anything about it.
